How the valve is mounted
Gate valves are irreplaceable elements present on almost every pipeline. During installation, a number of regulations must be observed.
Requirements for installation activities
In order for the valve to last as long as possible, while demonstrating proper efficiency, the following conditions must be observed during its installation:
- only qualified specialists can be allowed to work;
- before installation, it is mandatory to unload the line;
- it is allowed to work only with serviceable tools, using high-quality fasteners of the appropriate size;
- it is recommended to purchase only those valves that have factory conservation;
- it is advisable to remove the packaging immediately before installing the device.
Installation Recommendations
Good quality of installation of the new gate valve will ensure compliance with the following recommendations:
- Deconservation begins with the removal of an anticorrosive substance. To do this, you can use a rag or a soft cloth. White spirit or gasoline will help to improve the quality of cleaning.
- When mounting massive models, it is forbidden to use the flywheel wheel as a hook for hanging. This element may break under such loads.
- Sand, dirt and traces of corrosion must be carefully removed from the pipe section on which the valve will be placed. It is recommended to perform similar procedures before installing the needle valve. This will serve as a guarantee of the safety of the armature seat and the quality of its functioning.
- Before fixing the valve, it is necessary to align both its edges. This is especially true for flanged models. To eliminate distortions, it is forbidden to use shocks, deformations or tension.
- It is recommended to tighten the bolts evenly to avoid flattening the gaskets.
- If the installation is carried out by means of a welding machine, it is better to completely remove the stem. This will protect the shutter and the rubber gasket from thermal damage.
Upon completion of the installation activities, the entire system is crimped and flushed. If tests show a leak on the valve, it must be promptly eliminated. After that, the seal test is repeated for tightness.
